Ok so I haven't forgotten your question Rhox...I've spent quite awhile on this topic and still don't have a water tight answer. But...I do have something we can work on... ...

You see, God is the being who created our free will, He knows EXACTLY how our free will operates. You see, our free will is like a cup of coffee at the beginning of a day, it's just a small part of a big picture that helps us get to the end in one piece. And it's a little more than that, it's almost like basic training.

God gave us a free will so we could PRACTICE making decisions for ourselves right? What are we practicing for? Well in 1 Corinthians Paul speaks of us judging angels one day,
1 Cor 6:3 "Know you not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?"
so when we get to heaven or wherever it is we're going, there is going to be work that has to be done. This life is all preparation for those 'duties' that we're going to be given.

So I guess all I'm trying to say is that God is beyond our free will, He is so much bigger than we think. Who knows, maybe God used His knowledge of Pharoahs free will and used circumstance to harden his heart?

I know that is a controversial idea, but I'm trying... and hey controversy kick starts the brain...

What are your thoughts on God 'hardening' the heart of Pharoah? Isn't that contradictory to the free will that He gave us? Im just wondering.... because I wouldn't know how to explain that to a non believer

Well i think you're both very right, but I do also think that there is so much to it that we will never understand. John 1 v 1 (where we got our name from ) says in the beginning was the word, God was all that there was, nothing more, nothing less...There was no opposite, there was no space for His absense(intense spelling error i think) because He can't be absent from Himself, so He then created the fact that He could withdraw from anything right? I don't know, it's all really big...God is soooooo huge, I get tired when i try figure this stuff out sometimes haha

Same with Adam and Eve. They first chose to sin, then God withdrew... So isn't evil just a force that will always be knocking, when there is free will involved? I'm not trying to say i'm right, just genuinely asking a question :P

Hey guys.... don't you think free will has alot to do with it? Surely God didn't withdraw His light from Satan just for no reason, it had to be be because Satan turned his back on God first....

NICE!!! I couldn't have put it better myself...Now you spoiled my whole thread, I was expecting people to say Satan created evil That is sadly what alot of people think, but satan is not a creator, the only creator is...The Almighty Living God...10 points Nico...I'l have another question someday...Haha

haha, this is very funny. have you ever wached the hellboy trailer? in there they give the qoute that in the absence of light, darkness prevails. This is actually very accurate, because that is all that evil is, its darknes, and all darkness is, is the absence of light. No-one created evil, God did not, and the devil did deffinitely not, because he cant create. All that happened was that God withdrew His light from Satan, He withdrew His glory, and the darkness, the absense of light, remained. the same with adam and eve, God withdrew His glory. So thats it basically

To discuss things that pertain to our Christian walk. Does nobody have anything to discuss?! hehe, fine I got something...Who created evil? it makes for an interesting discussion, even though the answer is rather simple...I think
